Geometry
Prerequisites: Algebra I

Credit: 1 per year
Description: This course provides an in depth study of geometric concepts such as perimeter, area, and volume. Emphasis is placed on using postulates, theorems, and definitions to solve problems as well as proofs and constructions. Upon completion, students should be able to work with a variety of geometric problems using different methods of solutions.

Algebra II (College Prep)
Prerequisites: Algebra I (Honors or CP)

Description: This course continues the study of the concepts covered in Algebra I, but at a higher level of difficulty. Emphasis is placed on new topics such as rationalization, quadratic formula, completing the square, imaginary numbers, trigonometry, matrices, and logarithms. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate their ability to work with and within a variety of function families.

Algebra II (Honors)
Prerequisites: Algebra I (Honors or CP)

Description: This course continues the study of the concepts covered in Algebra I, but at a higher level of difficulty. The Honors class moves at a faster pace. Emphasis is placed on new topics such as rationalization, quadratic formula, completing the square, imaginary numbers, trigonometry, matrices, and logarithms. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate their ability to work with and within a variety of function families.

Intermediate Algebra
Prerequisites: Algebra II

Description: This course continues the study of the topics from Algebra and Geometry. Emphasis is placed on all basic algebra functions and all geometry related topics. Students will also be integrating technology into the course work. Upon completion, students will be able to work with functions in a variety of ways as well as be prepared for college level math.

College Algebra/Trigonometry
Prerequisites: Algebra II

Description: This course is a continuation of the intermediate concepts and skills that were started in Algebra II, as well as introducing upper level concepts and skills. Emphasis is placed on lines, logarithms, quadratic equations, systems of equations, conic sections, trigonometry, and matrices. Upon completion, students should be able to work with the six basic trigonometric functions in a variety of ways including solving equations, graphing, and working with the unit circle. In addition, students should also be able to work with all linear and quadratic functions.

Pre-Calculus
Prerequisites: Algebra II

Description: This course helps students gain a complete understanding of the concepts of algebra, trigonometry, and analytical geometry. Emphasis is placed on functions through the use of graphical, numerical, and algebraic modeling to show how algebra and trigonometry are used in real life problems. Throughout the course students will be introduced to basic concepts that will be used in calculus. Upon completion, students will be able to solve equations involving the ten basic algebraic functions as well as be able to graph them.

Calculus
Prerequisites: Pre-Calculus (Honors or CP)

Description: The course begins with an intensive review of the topics from algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry. The course also introduces the basic concepts of calculus. Emphasis is placed on limits of functions, continuity, the derivative, differentiability, graph analysis, and integration. Upon completion, students should be able to work with all types of functions both graphically and algebraically.

AP Calculus AB
Prerequisites: Pre-Calculus

Description: This course is designed to prepare students for college level math as well as the AP Exam. It primarily deals with developing the students’ understanding of the concepts of calculus. Emphasis is placed on a multi-representational approach to calculus, with concepts, results, and problems expressed graphically, numerically, and verbally. Upon completion, the students should be able to work with limits, the derivative, the definite integral, as well as the trigonometric, logarithmic, and exponential functions.

AP Statistics
Prerequisites: Algebra II

Description: This course introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. The four major themes are exploring data, sampling and experimentation, anticipating patters, and statistical inference.
